Windsor makes cars and car parts. This has led to Windsor having one of the highest average earnings of any city in Ontario. With money to burn in their pockets these car makers frequent the many restaurants, Chinese take outs, pizzerias, donut and coffee shops in Windsor.

The other source of customers for all these eating places is the several thousand young Americans who visit Windsor to take advantage of the fact that the drinking age is lower in Windsor than in Detroit. Festival season is here once again.

June 9 to 11 Carrousel by the River. The Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County present the festival season's first event.

Windsor Symphony Orchestra will again be holding the Kim Lucier Memorial, Free Family Summer Concerts in Odette Sculpture Park. The dates for 2006 are, June 18, July 9, July 23 Woodwind Quintet. Aug 13: String Quintette, and Sept 3. All the events are on Sunday. Odette Park is close to the Ambassador bridge.

The International Freedom Festival, a transborder firework show will be held on Wednesday 29 June.

July 1, a Sturday, is Canada's birthday. The Girl Guides will again be selling pancakes outside HMCS Hunter at 960 Ouellette.

Festival Epicure will be staged July 7, 8, and 9.
